JOB TITLE: Dietary Aide

REPORTS TO: Operations Manager Health Care

SALARY CLASSIFICATION: Hourly

General Description:

Responsible for performing a variety of kitchen duties as directed by supervisor. Performs duties in compliance with established company policies and procedures, and performs in a professional manner and maintains cleanliness and sanitation of dining and kitchen areas.

Essential Job Functions:

1.Ability to perform routine tasks and assignments.

2.Preparing alternate food menu selections

3.Greets, takes food orders and delivers meals to residents.

4.Ensures meals are delivered an a appropriate temperature in a timely manner, to include assembly and delivering of “sick trays”.

5.Demonstrates high level of compassionate and quality customer service skills.

6.Operates and cleans food service equipment.

7.Washes and cleans pots, pans, and other food service items.

8.Restocks shelves, counters, and storage areas with food service equipment.

9.Removes trash and garbage as directed.

10.Operates dish machine.

11.Attends scheduled meetings and inservices.

12.Sets and clears tables.

13.Follows tray ticket order/required diets in serving meals to residents.

14.Records and monitors food temperatures.

15.Performs all other job related duties as directed by Supervisor.

Work Area and Working Conditions:

• Well lighted, well ventilated kitchen, dining rooms, and dish room.
• Subject to frequent interruptions.
• Frequently exposed to wet and humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, fumes, or airborne particles, extreme cold and extreme heat.

Entry Level Qualifications:

1.High School diploma or GED preferred.

2. Able to work quickly and efficiently. Ability to print and speak simple sentences.

3.Familiar with clinical diets preference

4.Strong Customer Service skills.

Physical Requirements:

• While performing the duties of the job, the employee must be able to sit, stand, walk, use hands, talk, pull, push, feel, and smell.
• While performing the duties of the job, the employee must be able to regularly lift and move 20 lbs. and up to 50lbs. occasionally.

Key Accountabilities (with or without reasonable accommodation):

1.Accurately prepares trays according to Dietary Orders.

2.Properly serves residents of Health Care dining room with proper food for their diet, meeting resident right to food choice, in a timely fashion, in polite, responsive manner.

3.Dish room responsibility – help wash, put away clean dishes, monitor cleanliness of dishes and area.

4. Sanitation – practices sanitary procedures in food handling, serving, cleaning of kitchen and dining room areas, and storage.
